A Phenomenological Study on the Experiences of Music Therapist's with Sexual Abused Children in Music Psychotherapy
Hwang Eun-Young

Abstract
This study is a phenomenological study to investigate the meaning of therapists' experiences in music psychotherapy with sexual abused children. For this purpose, Moustakas¡¯s phenomenological method was applied to 8 participants who participated in psychotherapy for sexual abused children. The research process first constructs questions through open questionnaires and then in depth interviews to describe therapists' experiences in detail and categorizes them by subject. The results of the study are as follows. Sub-themes were derived in relation to three research questions in total. First, ¡®experience as an individual¡¯ and ¡®experience as a professional¡¯ were derived from experiences in the music therapy process. The second 'coping and growth' led to 'active coping' and 'growth as a therapist'. Finally, 'music is healing', it has a healing role by providing 'space of safety and trust', 'space of expression and projection', 'space of empathy and support', 'space of connection'. The results of this study are meaningful as basic data for training and education for therapist in psychotherapy process with the victimized child.
